Steel & Cedar Perimeter Fence — Comox Valley Estate

A Comox Valley estate required 400 feet of perimeter fencing combining security with aesthetics. The property borders both road and forest, requiring different fence designs for different sections — a taller privacy fence along the road and a lighter deer fence along the tree line.
For the road-facing sections, we fabricated steel post frames with cedar plank infill — matching the style of the driveway gate we had previously built. Posts are 4x4 steel tube set in concrete, with horizontal steel rails and vertical cedar boards.
The forest-facing sections use a lighter design with steel posts and welded wire mesh panels, tall enough to keep deer out of the garden areas. All steel was hot-dip galvanized and powder coated. Total project included a matching pedestrian gate and vehicle gate.
The Challenge
The 400-foot perimeter needed two different fence styles — privacy along the road and deer fencing along the forest edge — while maintaining a cohesive look across the entire property.
Our Solution
Designed a unified post system with interchangeable panel types: cedar infill for privacy sections and welded wire mesh for deer fencing. All steel hot-dip galvanized and powder coated for longevity.
The Result
The complete perimeter fence was installed in under two weeks. The consistent post design ties both fence styles together visually, and the property owner reports zero deer intrusion since installation.
